    Associate Professor in Telecommunications Engineering, Swinburne University of Technology

    Philip Branch is an Associate Professor in Engineering at Swinburne University of Technology.

    Before joining Swinburne he was Development Manager of Interception Management Systems with Ericsson AsiaPacific Labs, responsible for the development of key interception systems sold by Ericsson worldwide.

    His research interests are in anomaly detection, sensor networks, Internet of Things, network security, and network architectures.

  • Iain Collings
    Deputy Dean, School of Engineering, Macquarie University

    Iain has over 20 years’ experience in research, development and teaching.

    He has held positions of: Head of Department and Professor of Engineering at Macquarie University; Deputy Chief of Division at CSIRO; Research Director and OCE Science Leader of the Wireless and Networking Technologies Laboratory at the CSIRO ICT Centre; Associate Professor at the University of Sydney; Lecturer at the University of Melbourne; and Research Fellow in the Australian Cooperative Research Centre for Sensor Signal and Information Processing.

    He has published over 300 research papers in the area of wireless communications, and is a Fellow of the IEEE.

  • Maurie Dobbin
    Managing Director, Teleresources Engineering

    Maurie is the founder and Managing Director of TeleResources.

    He possesses over thirty years of experience in telecommunications markets and is an acknowledged expert in the wireless communications industry.

    Maurie has consulted to many of the world’s international telecommunications operators, major manufacturers and government organisations since 1981.

    He is a frequent speaker at international conferences on topics ranging from business strategy through technology developments to providing superior customer service. Maurie has many years of experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams engaged in major telecommunications technical studies and projects.

  • Mark Gregory
    Senior Lecturer in Electrical and Computer Engineering, RMIT University

    Mark is an Associate Professor in the School of Engineering  at RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia.

    His research focus is on Network Engineering, Internet security and privacy and public policy and he has published more than 100 refereed papers.

    Mark is a Fellow of Engineers Australia and a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc. He has been the founding director of several companies that provide IT services, systems and software development.

    Mark is currently the Managing Editor of the Australian Journal of Telecommunications and the Digital Economy and the General Chair of the International Telecommunication Networks and Applications Conference.

  • Brendan Jones
    Spectrum Strategy and Network Modelling Principal, Investment Planning & Technology Economics Commercial Engineering, Telstra

    Brendan Jones has worked in the telecommunications industry for over 30 years, with experience at Telstra, Optus, OTC and Macquarie Research Limited.

    Dr. Jones' current role at Telstra is Spectrum Strategy and Network Modelling Principal, in the Investment Planning & Technology Economics group.  One of his key responsibilities is Telstra’s spectrum strategy, including assessment of spectrum utilisation and future spectrum requirements, spectrum valuations, and associated regulatory advocacy.

    Previously he held senior roles in Optus in a number of areas, including national manager of radio access strategy, radio spectrum auctions, mobile network performance development, and major network vendor equipment supply contracts.

    Dr. Jones is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.  He holds a PhD degree from Macquarie University and Bachelor of Engineering degree from Newcastle University.

    He has 30+ years of executive experience and has been a leader for IBM Australia/NZ leveraging India, China, Philippines, Vietnam, Egypt, Romania, Brazil & Argentina.

    He is Adjunct Professor in Australia, Singapore & India. Pradeep is regular speaker at international conferences including Vancouver, Sydney, Melbourne, Manila, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Beijing, Shanghai, New Delhi +++. He is an acknowledged Leader in Emerging Technologies especially Virtual. Augmented and Mixed Reality and Education/EdTech

    Pradeep is on Advisory Boards of number of companies. He has MBA from AGSM (UNSW), MSc (Computer Science) from UTS &  B Tech from IIT Delhi
